Also includes an essay on Revolutionary War Brigadier General William Bryan of Craven County; documents (1799-1800) pertaining to the sloop the RAINBOW, which was captured by a French privateer; slave bill of sale; description of travel to Paris, France (1828); biographical sketch, notes, and correspondence related to Revolutionary War Brigadier General William Bryan; description of voyages from New Bern, N.C., to Newport, R.I., and from New Bern to New York by boat and railroad (1833).
